Your privacy is important
We (Wise Driving School) take the privacy of our participants very seriously. There are certain laws and regulations that we comply with to protect your privacy. This includes the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles (2014)
In some cases as required by law and as required by the NVR Standards we will need to make your information available to others. In all other cases we ensure that we will seek the permission of the participant.
All handling of your information is done in accordance to relevant laws including privacy act, workplace surveillance act.
Privacy Principles
The way we handle your information is guided by the 13 privacy principles. They are defined below:
Principle 1 – Open and transparent management of personal information. The objective of this principle is to ensure that APP entities manage personal information in an open and transparent way.
Principle 2 – Anonymity and pseudonymity. Individuals may have the option of not identifying themselves, or of using a pseudonym, when dealing with Wise Driving School in relation to a particular matter.
Principle 3 – Collection of solicited Personal Information. Wise Driving School must not collect personal information (other than sensitive information) unless the information is reasonably necessary for our business purposes.
Principle 4 – Dealing with unsolicited personal information. If Wise Driving School receives personal information, we must, within a reasonable period after receiving this information, determine whether or not it is collected under Australian Privacy Principle 3, and if not, we must, as soon as practical but only if it is lawful and reasonable to do so, destroy the information.
Principle 5 – Notification of the collection of personal information. Requires Wise Driving School to notify our clients, staff and participants of any additional information that we collect about them, and further advise them of how we will deal with and manage this information.
Principle 6 – Use or disclosure of personal information. The information that Wise Driving School holds on an individual that was collected for a particular purpose, we must not use or disclose the information for another purpose unless the individual has consented.
Principle 7 – Direct marketing. As Wise Driving School holds personal information about individuals, we must not must not use or disclose the information for the purpose of direct marketing.
Principle 8 – Cross Border disclosure of personal information. Where Wise Driving School discloses personal information about an individual to an overseas recipient, we must take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles.
Principle 9 – Adoption, use or disclosure of government related identifiers. Wise Driving School must not adopt a government related identifier of an individual as its own identifier of the individual except when using identification codes or numbers issued by either the State based regulators, or the department of Innovation with regard to the Unique Student Identifier.
Principle 10 – Quality of personal information. Wise Driving School must take such steps (if any) as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that the personal information that Wise Driving School collects is accurate, up to date and complete.
Principle 11 – Security of personal information. If an APP entity holds personal information, the entity must take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the information.
Principle 12 – Access to personal information. As Wise Driving School holds personal information about an individuals, Wise Driving School must, on request by the individual, give the individual access to the information.
Principle 13 – Correction of personal information. As Wise Driving School holds personal information about individuals and should we believe that this information is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading; or the individual requests the entity to correct the information; Wise Driving School must take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to correct that information.
Information we collect
We collect information when you use our products & services. We may also collect information third parties such as job agencies or your employer.
We collect personal information about you when you contact us, use our products or services, visit our websites or deal with us in some other way.

We use your information for two main purposes. We use it to deliver our products & services as required by relevant laws. We also use your information for other reasons, such as to better understand you and your needs, and to let you know about other products and services you might be interested in.

We do not share your information with any third party unless it is necessary for it to complete your course. For example, we send some of your information to third party RTOs that conduct your assessment so that they can issue your certificate.

We store your hard copy and electronic records in secure buildings and systems, or using trusted third parties. Here are some of the things we do to protect your information:
You can contact us if you have any concerns about your information. You may be able to have your information destroyed from if they are not required by law. However, most of the information is required.
For example, you can access your USI if you forgotten it. Or request a certificate reprint if available (may incur extra charges).

- Your reviews and testimonials - if you decide to share on our online platforms

- Your personal details – including cultural, disability, educational, & employment information (required by law)
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Video surveillance:
- Within our premises to ensure safety of students & staff.
- Within our vehicles as a requirement of RMS licensing procedures.
We use your information for two main purposes. We use it to deliver our products & services as required by relevant laws. We also use your information for other reasons, such as to better understand you and your needs, and to let you know about other products and services you might be interested in.

- To contact you, when something in your enrolment changes
- To contact you, because you showed interest in a product or service
- To understand your needs
- To promote and showcase our company - always with consent
- To send information and materials that you requested - such as a factsheet or sample
- To send training materials related to your course
- To provide evidence of assessment as required by governing policies
- Comply with laws, and assist government or law enforcement agencies
We do not share your information with any third party unless it is necessary for it to complete your course. For example, we send some of your information to third party RTOs that conduct your assessment so that they can issue your certificate.

- Australian Skills & Quality Authority – for any nationally recognised training
- USI – when you apply for one
- Roads & Maritime Services NSW – if you do conduct HVCBA training
- SafeWork NSW – if you undertake High Risk Work licencing (forklift)
- Transport for NSW – if you apply for the Bus Authority Card
- National register of VET (NVR) – for any nationally recognised training
How we protect your information
We have systems in place to protect your information. We aim to only keep your information for as long as required.
We store your hard copy and electronic records in secure buildings and systems, or using trusted third parties. Here are some of the things we do to protect your information:
- Your enrolment details are stored securely on our password protected servers.
- Physical records are stored securely on our site. Our site is monitored by 24/7 CCTV.
- FCA video surveillance is stored in an encrypted format requiring special software to open.
- Your records will be destroyed completely after the mandatory storing period of 7 or 30 years (depending on the course you conduct)
You can contact us if you have any concerns about your information. You may be able to have your information destroyed from if they are not required by law. However, most of the information is required.
For example, you can access your USI if you forgotten it. Or request a certificate reprint if available (may incur extra charges).
